Celebrating the Golden Wedding of David and Rona Lowsley-Williams, and their 50 years at Chavenage The weekend of 14th April 2008 marked a double celebration at Chavenage House - not only did David and Rona Lowsley-Williams celebrate their 'Golden Wedding Anniversary', but it also marked 50 years since they took up the reins of Chavenage. The house and estate were given to David and Rona as a wedding present by Col. John Lowsley-Williams (David's uncle) who was too ill to attend the wedding on 14th April, 1958, and subsequently died a few days later. The Wedding took place in St. Michael's R.C. Church, Tetbury with the reception being held at the Petty France Hotel. For once the Lowsley-Williams hosted their own parties, culminating in a family party on the actual day of the anniversary. The early spring has once again being a busy time at Chavenage, the BBC were based there for a fortnight whilst they filmed their new drama 'Bonekickers', and a couple of scenes from the new Tess of the D'Urbervilles are also being shot at Chavenage. With all the interest and publicity from the house being featured as Candleford Manor in the recent series 'Lark Rise to Candleford', the year 2008 looks as if it it going to be one of the busiest in David and Rona's tenure.
